Is foreign talent a threat to Singaporeans?
No. This is an absurd of a typical Singaporean thinking who are stuck at the lower end. People who are lazy, who do not improve themselves and who are self-denial, all blame the government for bringing in foreign talent. It is not because they are unable to find jobs that they result to committing crimes for survival. Take a look around. There are many homes offering places to stay, charities, aids and schemes. They can still find low paying jobs.
Singapore is constantly improving, excelling and striving forward. How can we limit our growth to only within us. We must open our doors to the world and expand.
Foreign talent has help shoot Singapore to a world class level. With their expertise, Singaporeans have learned a lot and much more to learn.
I believe no one Singaporean wants to work as construction workers or rubbish collectors. These sectors are often flooded with foreigners. So how can we say foreigners “snatch” our jobs? It is we ourselves that give these jobs away to them. Without them, who’s going to do these jobs Singaporeans deemed “lower class”?
I think that by limiting foreigners would only be impeding our progress.
